Since it still feels like winter....

Since waking up today with more snow I thought that I should blog about one of the winter activities that never got posted. These are all my cute boys back in February when they were off track. J.D. decided to take a day off of work and take Drew and Jensen up to snowboard. They had been wanting to go ever since Christmas, it had just never worked out, but this was finally their day. How cute are they on the lift?? I know lots of kids ski, but I never did, still don't, (I have only been once, hurt my knee and never have wanted to try again...plus it is way too cold for my liking). So I think it is awesome that they boys want to go and experience life....
Drew is a GREAT big brother - he is a tease, for sure, but when it comes down to it he would do anything for Jensen. Jensen wants to grow up to be just like him. I am so glad that they have each other.

This is them on the hill, look at the form, the skill, (ha, ha) and then the fall comes...just no picture of that!! J.D. stays on skis, he is not sure that he is brave enough (or young enough) to try the snowboard. He says that Drew is actually pretty good, and went on about 4 runs to Jensen and his runs...

They were both exhausted afterwards - too bad we can't find more activities like that around the house during the winter to tire these 2 boys out!! I guess that is why they spend so much time wrestling and teasing each other to get that little boy energy out. I love them both and are so proud to call them "my boys".

What a difference a day (or weekend) makes....

Here we have it, typical spring weather....just last weekend Ella was out jumping on the trampoline having a great time, no shoes, time in the sun and then, WHAM!! Monday comes along and we have snow. Ella has wanted to make a snow angel all winter long and was so excited to finally be able to do it. Seriously though, this weather drives me crazy. You would think that I would know how to handle it living here all my life, but it still tends to catch me off guard every spring. Not knowing how to dress my kids in the morning, do I turn the heater off, or leave it on, it is just all so confusing. At least my little girl can appreciate it....

St. Patricks Day.....

This is one holiday that I don't quite understand. Neither does Jensen for that matter, getting him to put on a green shirt was torture this morning....he didn't care if he got pinched or not. I finally had to convince him that he would feel more stupid wearing any other color today because everyone in his 2nd grad class would be wearing green, so to wear blue would be bad. Brenna now wears a uniform to school since changing middle schools (something that I have not blogged about) so there was no option for her. Standard tan skirt and blue shirt for her today. I thought everyone looked cute, so in honor of the Irish I took a picture....Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! Whatever that means. :) :)

New Bedrooms for "the boys"....

With baby #6 on the way we needed to adjust the bedrooms upstairs. We had 2 boy rooms and 2 girls rooms up there already, and I was nearly 100% sure that there would be no need to make any changes, since I really thought that this baby was going to be a girl. I was wrong and the changes are underway. Ella is staying put, in her way cute room that J.D. did for her before she was born, and Drew got new furniture in his room (a king sized bed, Wow!!) - "now this looks like a teenager room, mom" - his words exactly. We moved Jensen and are in the process of changing his old room into the new nursery. Everything so far has turned out really well, (J.D. does GREAT work when he has the time to fit it into our busy schedule!!) The boys are happy with their new "pads" - although, Jensen ends up in Drews room nearly every night, Drew is a patient and kind big brother who lets him stay most of the time. We have lived in our house now for a very quick 6 years and have changed it so many times already - I wonder if we will ever just stay put for a while....???
